The greatest name ever

Travis likes to say, “Tatiana… MASLANY whenever the opportunity arises!

Born in Saskatchewan (just like Sister Alice!) 1983, Tatiana is a mix of Austrian, German, Polish, Romanian & Ukrainian… and is from Canada. In elementary school, she was in French immersion & her mom taught her German before she learned English. Oh… and she also speaks some Spanish. Another oh… she’s been dancing since she was 4! She moved to Toronto & her career began in 2012 as a regular on Canadian TV & film.

The Breakout

In 2013 her breakout came when she played Sarah Manning in BBC America’s series, Orphan Black. Now she didn’t just play a character or two or even three. During the show’s run, she portrayed a dozen characters, all of whom were her cloned “sisters”… the bohemian Cosima, soccer mom Alison, the tragic Beth, & Travis’ absolute favorite… the damaged yet fiercely loyal, Helena.

Awards

Besides winning a slew of Canadian awards, Tatiana also has Critic’s Choice & Prime Time Emmy Awards on her shelf. After Orphan Black’s run, she did a couple more indys, episodes of Parks & Rec, and showed up in an Andy Samburg video featured on the season 39 finale on Saturday Night Live.

And then there’s Sister Alice!

Tatiana absolutely rocks in the HBO reboot of the classic Perry Mason as the fire & brimstone evangelist Sister “let’s raise the dead!” Alice, another not to be missed role that further showcases her immense talent.
